Overview

I and built a landing page to inform potential customers about the benefits of athletic consulting.
The goal was to create a digital presence for the brand, establishing credibility and converting visitors into clients.

Background

Peak Performance Consulting provides sports performance and psychology coaching. Dr. Breanna Naegeli started coaching & speaking and decided it was time to establish the brand.

The Problem

Peak Performance Consulting needed a digital presence and identity. Most clients prior to this project were gained by word of mouth and Dr. Naegeli wanted to change this. This site needed to balance credibility and approachability, as the target audience was broad.

Research

The research stage consisted of competition analysis, user research as well as visual research. Dr. Naegeli provided me with a few example sites of similar professionals that worked well. I used those sites as a starting point for research but branched out from there. I was also provided with a rough idea for a logo, and gathered further inspiration.
This site was the main source of inspiration for the project. It displayed clear hierarchy and made the site simple.
This was another site that Dr. Naegeli provided, and gave me insight into the consulting world, however it was very text-heavy.
The design elements in this site were perfect for this project. It was visually interesting without adding too much clutter. The hierarchy and typefaces were strong choices.
This was the initial logo concept provided. The client wanted a variation of this, but with a similar layout & colors.

Branding

After researching this topic, I moved on to ideation & branding. I had a limited timeline for the first phase of this project so I created a simple wordmark for the brand. I experimented with variations of the original logo, and with some client feedback reached a final design. I created a color palette, selected fonts and implemented them in the site.

Wireframes

With the brand created, the next step was to move on to wireframes. The goal of the site was to generate leads and provide a digital presence for the brand. All the copy for the site was provided initially so my role was to lay it out in a clean and readable way. I accomplished this by providing plenty of white space and keeping things organized neatly.

Design & Build

After creating and refining the wireframes, I designed out the comps in Figma. The client wanted a sporty-but-professional look so that is what I delivered. I designed custom icons, elements and polished it up.

Once the comps were approved, I built the site out in Webflow, making it fully responsive at desktop, tablet and mobile breakpoints.

Revisions

Throughout the project, I was in communication with the client and provided many small changes to the site. Most of these were copy-related and were super simple. The client was extremely satisfied with the final product.

After the initial design/build, I was tasked with adding a few new pages to the site to further develop the site. These consisted of a Bio, About & Speaking page. Same as the original process, this addition followed the steps of wireframes, comps, review and build.

Reflection

Peak Performance Consulting needed a digital presence, and that was solved by creating a landing page to generate leads. This project provided me the opportunity to go from a concept to a live site in a short span. I had constant client communication and it greatly improved my skills.
